1. Shinjiki lay sprawled across the grass, his nose pointed twords the sky. It was a fine day today, even if it wasn't dark or cloudy. He had to admit, seeing such a beautifully light blue wasn't going to be something that he was going to take for granted, even if he would prefer the night sky. Slowly, he moved onto his back, hoping for something else to happen. Being alone was fine and all, but it did get rather... boring.

2. Mudtail walked out into the garden; she didn't really know why she was here yet. Maybe that was fortunate for her, her friend, Rainstar, had picked up on it right away. She said that it had been interesting at first, meeting with the one whom she thought was the leader of an opposing pack, and then finding out that he was her former apprentice. After a moment, she spotted the Starlight Volpe that was laying, sprawled on the grass. He looked quite interesting; sure, she'd seen the two Starlight Volpes that lived at home with her, but she wasn't so sure about their personalities, overall. "H-hello?" she asked curiously. [0.2]

3. At first, Shinjiki didn't hear the female's paws, but once she spoke, he jumped to his feet, having thought he was indeed alone. After seeing that it was a Griffon, he took a deep breath, hoping to calm his lungs. What was he suppose to say to this creature? He was, after all, just staring at nothing? It wasn't like that was going to be at all interesting for this strange creature, but he couldn't really just sit there like a fool... well, he could, but that would end up rather poorly, now wouldn't it?
The brute swallowed quietly, trying to regain composure. "Hello there," he finally said, flicking his ear off to the side. He had just been alone, hadn't he? It was hard to say now, considering that he hadn't even much of an idea as to where he was in the first place.

4. Mudtail blinked at his reaction. "I-I'm sorry... did I... did I startle you?" she asked nervously. "B-because I didn't mean to... I-I..." she shook her head as she admonished herself mentally.
"S-sorry... I'm just a tiny bit shy around Volpes I... don't know." She said haltingly. In her head, she was wondering why Silverheart couldn't have come along with her.

5. Shinjiki thought for a moment. He was startled, but that isn't exactally something he should admit to, huh? Sadly, he knew that honesty was a bit more important than anything else, which made it fairly hard for him to think that it was all going to be alright if he were to lie to her, and say that he had been just fine. "I was a little startled," he slowly admitted. He didn't feel like admitting it was going to help her being shy, but maybe it would, he didn't really know. "I'm fine, though, really."

6. Mudtail let out a slow breath; "Okay... that's good." She said. "Just so long as you're okay, then... that's good." She seemed just a little hesitant when speaking; only she [and Silverheart] really knew why.
"S-so... what's your name?" she asked, slightly tentative.

7. Shinjiki couldn't help but pause before speaking to the female again. She wanted to know his name, did she? Was that something she actually needed to know, or did it really matter, anyway? It probably didn't, but he still wasn't sure if she actually requried such knowlage. "My name?" he repeated, now in question. It wouldn't be bad if he were to tell her, no matter what he thought of it. "My name is Shinjiki."

8. Mudtail thought for a moment. "Shinjiki... that's a very interesting name." She said, scratching at the ground with her claw. "My name is Mudtail." She said, her voice still a little halting. She decided to wait and see if Shinjiki would say anything else; being shy really had its disadvantages, when she thought about it.

9. Shinjiki seemed to beam with pride. He loved his name, though he wasn't sure what it actually meant. "Mudtail is a nice name," he said, nodding rather furiously. "You're a Griffon, aren't you?" He did enjoy Griffons and how many of them could fly. Just because this one couldn't, didn't really make her at all bad. In fact, he enjoyed that she couldn't. Maybe she was good at running!

10. Mudtail nodded. "Yeah... I'm a Griffon. I just... don't have wings, obviously. But I don't mind it; none of the Volpes I live with back home seem to fly often." She said, shrugging. "However, when a Griffon lives in a rather active pack of Volpes, they learn speed on the ground as opposed to speed in the air." She said.

11. Shinjiki tried to smile, though it was, of course, not exactally right. Still, he was content with himself. "Running is good for you," he began, nodding vigorously once more. "It stretches your legs, while flying only uses your wings." At least he had assumed as much. He actually wasn't entirely sure, seeing as he had never really seen a Volpe fly, but he definantly wished that he could.

12. Mudtail offered as good of a smile as a Griffon could, and then, she said, "Running is definitely good for oneself." She fluffed out her tail feathers some before she sat down. She laughed as she said, "As far as wings go, I could care less if I had them or not. I don't live with any other Griffons, so it's not like they poke fun at my lack of wings."

13. Shinjiki nodded lightly, happy to think that there were more that didn't require wings just to be pleased with themselves. "I live with two Griffs," he stated. "But they're both like you." He was amazed by how many Volpes tended to look so much alike around here, but maybe that's just how it was? There were a few that were completely different at home, but those were the ones that were way to cocky about themselves.

14. "Oh?" she asked curiously. "More Mud Griffons? I always knew there had to be more than just... well, let's just say that I'm the only one that lives with the other Volpes. I don't know why, but my human decided that it would be best if I were the only one or... something like that." She said, shrugging. "Do you live with many other Volpes?"

15. The brute nodded lightly. She hadn't seen other Griffons like her before? As far as he knew, they were... sort of common, anyway. Maybe not as common as his breed was, but that wasn't exactally the point. He found it hard to believe that his human would only take home one Griffon, seeing as they were such fascinating creatures, but maybe that was just his opinion? "Well... yes. The pack back home is pretty big, probably bigger than what most are use to." Heck, he wasn't even entirely fond of it.
