His blood was racing, white hot and all was red. How dare who ever it was pull him backwards like that? It was Magyk wasn’t it? Magyk! Then he saw him and threw himself at the pathetic creature, trying to finish him off once and for all. But someone got in the way. How dare they! He attacked back and got clawed in return. The fight was on. He snapped, just missing fur and then snapped at all, pulling out, what? Fur or feathers, he couldn’t tell or care. All that mattered was to hurt this new enemy more then they could hurt him. They where in the air now, trading blows as the rose, locked together, back claws trying to rip away at each others bellies. His opponent was strong, very strong but he would win! Then he felt teeth clamp onto one of his back claws, and a sudden weight threatened to pull him back to earth. If he was going to go, so was his enemy! He dug in his front claws.

He had to help out Sukai! He flapped his pale feathery wings and chased after them. It didn’t take him more then a few seconds to catch up though, while fighting they couldn’t fly as well as normal and neither was too far off the ground. What to do, what to do? How could he help? If he tried to grab one of Stormwings wings again, he might get a hard crack round the jaw, and Sukai might fall down too. Suddenly a blue paw flashed down in front of his face and he grabbed it. He stopped flapping, letting his whole weight hang from one of Stormwings paws.

She couldn’t believe she was fighting her father! But that wasn’t going to stop her. She stupid old feather butt had had it coming, and with each new slash or patch of feather/fur removed, she grew angrier, and gave her blows more savage strength then before. How dare he? How dare he attack Magyk and Ryuu, and now her! Suddenly she felt Strowming drop slightly, and the stabbing pain as he sunk his claws into her flesh to stop himself from falling. She saw a flash of white and knew that it was Magyk. At the moment though, he seemed to be doing more harm then good.

When Ryuu reached them, she saw a perfect opportunity, and just when Stormwing opened his wings wide, trying to stay aloft, she grabbed Stormwing round the neck. His wings came back round to better hard at her body, but he was being strangled and was unable to fly. She saw Sukai peck one of his scaly legs hard, and with that he let go of her, dropping away towards the ground. Magyk immediately let go, lest he crash down the ground with him, and Ryuu also let go. Stormwing was too low now to completely stop his fall, but he managed to flap his wings a couple of times to ease the landing. Ryuu landed on top of him, pining him down. “Stormwing!” He shouted into his ear as he struggled to get away from her. “Calm down you idiot!” Maybe it was the anger in her voice, or just that it was a voice her recognized, but he did manage to calm down a little. He lay there, his bloody beak open, panting hard. Ryuu stopped leaning on him quite as hard, but ready to put her full weight on him if he tried anything stupid. “Stormwing, stop fighting, OK? What you’ve done is a terrible thing. You’ve hurt us all; though it’s Sukai you have caused the most pain of all. How could you do it Stormwing? How could you hurt us all so?” Her voice started off angrily, but ended up being all shaky as silver tears started to course down her cheeks. (3/5 of seventh section)

Oh what had he done…as the red haze past and he came back to his senses, he realized what he had just done. How could he ever forgive himself? He remembered all the scratches and bites he had given his own daughter… And Ryuu too… He just couldent answer Ryuu. Why had he done it? He just didn’t know, and he cloudlet believe he had. It wrenched his heart to hear the wobble in Ryuus voice as the shock started to finally go away completely, allowing her to properly feel her emotions once again. He felt her tears patter down slowly onto his neck fur. His whole body felt as though it had been battered to pieces with large rocks and sticks. All his faolt…he slumped down completely and felt Ryuu careful ease herself off him completely, slow enough that if he tried to attack them again, she could hold him down. But he wasn’t going to.

Magyk was the least hurt of all, just slightly battered and with a small scratch on one shoulder. It hurt like mad, so he couldn’t imagine what the others felt like. He saw Ryuu stop sitting on Stormwing and felt a thrill of fear, what if he attacked them again? But he didn’t. He just lay there. Was he dead? He looked pretty dead, his fur and feathers mattered with blood and all messed up. Bare patches of skin and gashes.. But he could see his ragged breathing. It would have served him right if he had died though… Right now he didn’t want to go anywhere near Stormwing, and just as he looked round for Sukai, he glimpsed something. The little penguin creature had left the egg under a bush and was rushing towards Stormwing, cheeping furiously at him and an extremely angry look on its face. It was going to attack Stormwing! He jumped in the way, and the penguin creature looked up at him angrily. “He would kill you!” Magyk told it earnestly “Rip you to shreds!” It looked as though it didn’t care, so Magyk stood in its way. Just then Stormwing slowly rose to his feet and Magyk saw fear flash across the little creatures face. “Shouldn’t you be looking after that egg?” He asked. It looked at him, blinked and with no other warning, shot off at a very fast waddle back to it. Magyk followed, not wanting to loose them despite all that had happened.

Sukai was breathing hard, her mismatched feet splayed as she tried to keep herself from falling over. She was so battered; her lovely feathery and furry coat mattered with blood and clumps of them just missing altogether. They would grow back, but it would take a while. Despite her painful injuries, she still had enough presence of mind to call to Ryuu that she had seen some movement behind a bush. Her eye sight was so good that she had managed to spot the faint gleam of the two sandflirts wings, despite them being behind a bush a similar colour to them. And what was that black shadow behind them? Was it part of the same creature, are another one? She wondered what it could be. She would love to run over there and go find out for herself. But at the same time, her fight had left her feeling very very warn out. The adrenaline that had kept her going then had now abandoned her, leaving her exhausted. A trickle of blood went in her eye, which she angrily pawed away with one of her talented paws. Where had they gone now? She had lost sight of witch bush they where hiding behind. Oh, there they where! She wondered if they had been drawn here by all the noise they had been making during their fight, though it was defiantly Stormwing who had been the noisiest. She had shrieked quite a lot during their fight though…. If that had been what had drawn them here, it must have been quite a show for them. And quite a scary one at that.

Now she wasn’t as shocked as before and her brain was coming back up to speed, she snapped into action. “Right, I’m going to grab the penguin and egg, put them in my bag, take out the healing potion I put in there. Sukai, you come with me. Stormwing…you too. Magyk, go check out whatever that is behind there.” There was barely a tremble in her voice now. She ran over, scooped up the egg and penguin creature (which cheeped indignantly at the treatment), then ran over to where she had left her bag. She placed then egg in the front pouch and zipped it up “If you want to stay with the egg, please stay here.” She told the penguin. She reached into her bag, wincing as the stretched the wound on her shoulder. She grabbed the bag with the griffin’s sunflowers in and tried giving a few to the penguin. It refused to eat them when she offered them to it in her clawed hand, but as soon as she put them on the ground, it started pecking at them. That done she reached back into her bag and pulled out the tub that contained the lotion she had made to heal any bumps or scratches they might get while on the hunt. Good thing she had brought it, there where defiantly more then a few scratches that needed healing. She didn’t think there would be enough for every injury, so she would just have to put on the worst. Stormwing was the worst injured, and despite it all being his fault anyway, Ryuu called him over first. Rooting round in her pack for the material she had put in to use for just a job like this (though not on quite a big a scale as this.) To her surprise she discovered two bottles of water. She had forgotten they where in there. No wonder the bag had been so heavy. She ripped a section of the absorbent material she had off and poured a little water over one of Stormwings larger wounds. She used the material and water to clear way the blood in that area. The gash was long, but not very deep. It was bleeding still quite a lot, so Ryuu made sure to swear a small amount of the lotion on it as soon as possible. The bleeding stopped at once. This lotion was amazing stuff, it really worked wonders, but she had to apply it as quick as she could to try and stop the bleeding before he lost too much blood. She moved onto a nearby scratch, washing it out. Luckily the lotion was water proof she didn’t have to worry about accidentally washing it off with the water. Most of the injuries where to his belly, legs, shoulders and head. As she washed him she ended up getting very wet, her clothes dyed pink from the mixture of water and blood. Stormwing seemed to be behaving very well now, not moving much at all or making many noises of discomfort, despite the fact this must be very painful.

Slowly, without thinking he followed Ryuu over to the bag, dragging his paws, not caring as they bumped against rocks. He dully knotted what Ryuu took out of her bag, and flinched slightly when he suddenly felt the sting of water running over one of his many tender wounds. He didn’t gasp or make any other sound though. He deserved the pain, it was all his fault. After the first time he barely flinched at all, even when she put that sticky lotion on him. It stung a lot but it defiantly stopped the bleeding. To his faint surprise (but he wasn’t feeling much of any emotion at the moment) he felt the scratches and bites that had the lotion on them go really warm, and then all the pain just… went away. How was that possible? He didn’t know, and to tell the truth, he didn’t really care. Oh what had he done? How could he have done it? Hurt his daughter? And he hadn’t even managed to kill Magyk! Kill Magyk…why had he even wanted to kill him any way? He really wasn’t sure… Who cares anyway? It didn’t matter anymore. He didn’t care if he died here. Maybe that would be for the better… But he just didn’t have the energy to move away from Ryuu, and she was doing all she could do save him. Why? Why was she doing all she could to stop his bleeding, after all he had done to her? In fact, he could see that she was still bleeding from three scratch marks on her left cheek and the part of her top near the left shoulder was ripped, and the whole area stained red. He had done that to her. But she still cared for him, still patched him up. Because she loved him… Gathering up all his courage he whispered through his blood beak: “I’m so sorry…” He thought she must have heard, but Ryuu didn’t respond.

Magyk did as Ryuu had told him, heading towards the vegetation that Sukai had said she had seen something. Should he try sneaking up? Or should he approach in the open? He decided to go for the second option; he was feeling just to tired at the moment to try sneaking up. He walked straight towards it and saw something green flash. Yes, Sukai had defiantly spotted something. He saw something else near to the flash of green that was very very dark. He guessed they where two different things. “Hello?...” he said. Something green popped its head round a bush and let out a sort of startled squeak. Then some more noises came from behind the vegetation. Magyk stood where he was, listening to the rustling and other noises. Finally another head popped up, this one was the black creature. Its head disappeared again and there was more rustling. Just as Magyk was getting very impatient, three creatures made their way towards him. The odd little green creatures seemed very curious, and despite the scene they had just witnessed, very bold. They came whizzing towards him on their little wings, making little noises to each other. Perhaps they where discussing him. One of them came and landed on his head, another inspected the scratch on his side. He vaguely recognized the dark creature, but he couldn’t remember what they where called. He had never seen one as dark as this, or with what looked like it had scales dotted randomly all over its body. It was a lot more cautious then the two little green ones, which he had already decided he quite liked. “Its OK, where aren’t going to hurt you. Stormwing, that stupid male griffin over there has calmed down. He tried to kill me!” The little bug like ones thrummed their wings in sympathy and the black creature nodded slightly, with a faintly sad look on its face. “Its safe now, we came here to look for creatures like you three, though I didn’t expect to find anything as lovely looking as you three.” The greens twittered in delight at his comment and flew round his head happily. The black didn’t seem quite so drawn in, but at the same time it didn’t seem angry or hostile. “We are looking for creatures that would like to come back to our home. We would love you to come back with us. Our home is a beautiful place, a huge underground cavern that opens up to the sky in many places. It is surrounded by lush forests and contains a huge lake, there are also countless streams around it. The actual cavern is full of crystals that reflect the light which means it’s very well lit. If you decide to come but don’t like it, you are free to leave.” The greens really seemed to like the idea, and even the black seemed quite interested. Magyk started to head towards Ryuu, the greens buzzing along in front of him. He glanced around to see the black creature following him.

Sukai stood by while Ryuu saw to Stormwing. She was still sooooooo angry at her father. Why was Ryuu seeing to him first? He should be last! A sensible part of her brain told her that it made sense to see to him first, since he was the most hurt out of all them. It still rankled with her though. He didn’t deserve to be treated at all, let alone before here! To take her mind off it, she looked round and watched Magyk try and entice the creatures into joining them. He seemed to be calmly talking to them. If it was her doing it, she would probably tried to just grab all of them. But with two of them having wings, and the other long legs, she suspected that she might end up with nothing to show for her efforts at all. Knowing her, she would probably have accidentally killed one as well. Magyks approach was risky, but it seemed to work, as after a minute or two he started to head over to them, with all three creatures with him. Suddenly Sukai felt a slight stinging on her side, and with a yelp she saw that Ryuu had moved onto her. Stormwing still looked very battered, his fur and feathers dyed a slightly different colour by the blood stains that the water haven’t been able to get rid of. A good bath should fix that though. And at least he wasn’t bleeding anymore. Several large feathers where missing though, it would take a while for tem to grow back, and no amount of lotion would speed that up. She felt a stinging around the same area as Ryuu had washed as she put the lotion on. After a few seconds the painful stinging turned into a tingling heat, and then all the pain in the wound just disappeared. Amazing. And despite all, it seemed they had found at least five creatures. She glanced around, seeing if she could spot anything more. She was very proud of having noticed those three hiding, but it would still be great to spot something more. She let out a slight hiss of pain as Ryuu washed one of her worse pack marks, but kept looking round. Briefly she looked at Stormwing, standing where Ryuu had left his, staring down at his still bloody claws. And she saw Magyks still heading towards them, the little green creatures flying round him, the black one trailing slowly behind him. But was there anything else out there too? For all she knew, there could be something right near her. Or maybe not, but then again, you never knew till you looked…
