Cody stuck his head out of the den. It was such a glorious summer day, perfect for exploring. Celia and Joy were sleeping in today, so he took the opportunity to go out for a stroll. The summer sun felt warm on his fur, the air around him was so peaceful. He could hear birds chirping in the distance, small animals scuttling in the thick trees. He felt a sense of adventure, he knew that there must be something more interesting in the forest, so he set off to look. It wasn't every day that he got to wander outside the den alone. Celia and Joy usually did the hunting, and when they did go out for an adventure, one of them tagged along. He didn't mind having them along, but it sure was nice being alone for a change. Thinking about it, he really didn't know where to start exploring. The forest was so massive, its trees and paths hiding many secrets. It was gonna be hard to uncover them. He followed his instincts, they told him not to follow a path. He glanced up at the sky, which was almost disappearing beneath the thick foliage of the trees, then continued on his way...

The creatures and environment seemed a lot different today, for some reason. He could actually see the squirrels and chipmunks peek their heads out from their little homes and hiding places, and birds perched on branches or sitting on their nests. Without Joy laughing and acting like she usually did, and without him and Celia talking, the animals weren't scared to come out. This was slightly new to him, he had the urge to chase them around the forest, but kept his mind on his mission. He was determined to find something unusual in the forest. Since he wasn't following any path, it was hard to navigate through the many trees. Sometimes he found himself stuck amidst a thick wall of massive wooden giants. It must have taken ages for the forest to grow this dense and massive. This only made him more eager to find some kind of treasure, some kind of secret in this magical place. What could he find? The possibilities were endless. Perhaps a hidden land full of a whole different animal species. Maybe a treasure... even finding aliens seemed possible to Cody. Whatever it was, he was sure he could keep it a secret from anyone. The secret would just be between him, and the forest. As he looked up, he realized he had gotten lost in thought. He hadn't really paid attention to where he was going. He looked down, only to see something sparkly among the grass. He turned it over with his paw... it was slightly dirty, encrusted with mud. He could just tell someone had left it there some time ago. It had an odd shape too... he'd seen nothing like it before. He picked it up with his mouth and lied down in the shade of a large oak, trying to clean it up with his paws. As he rubbed dirt off of it, he could see that many small jewels were embedded within the golden metal. All of a sudden, something emerged from inside the item. A dusty, sparkly smoke circled around him, making him dazed and scared at the same time... w-what is this? ooc-gah that was long o.o

The smoke enveloped him, as thoughts whizzed through his mind how stupid am I? Did I seriously have to go exploring alone today? I should have just waited until Joy or Celia woke up, now I might never see them again! Talk about curiosity killed the cat... this time it might have killed the volpe... All of a sudden, the smoke drew away from him, now it was in front of him. It had taken a shape that oddly looked like a human being. Cody jumped as the smoky figure moved its surreal arms, as if it were stretching, and then, it talked! finally... that was some long nap, huh? It's been forever since I've seen trees... Cody stared in awe as the smoky man straightened itself out, still continuing the eerie convesation. How long have I been laying in that mud for? People should really take more consideration of where they leave me. I mean, I grant them 3 wishes for Pete's sake! And what do they do? Just drop me off in the middle of nowhere. he mumbled to himself. Cody stared until the figure seemed to realize he was there. Oh hello there... I guess you want your 3 wishes then, huh? he asked. Cody stared some more, until he built up the courage to speak. "Umm... who... what, are you?" he asked. What am I? Well... I'm a genie of course! You know... Aladdin? You rub the lamp and I give you 3 wishes? Any of the ring a bell? Cody shook his head in confusion and the genie sighed. Let me make this quick kid, you rubbed my magical lamp, now I've been summoned to make any of your 3 biggest wishes come true. Your wish is my command and all that junk... Cody could not believe his ears. Grinning from ear to ear... he had done it! He had found a treasure in the forest! And now, he could have any 3 wishes he wanted!

It was gonna be hard choosing 3 things that he wanted the most, he should think hard about this, but he could see that the genie was impatient, and he couldn't spend the whole day in the forest thinking about what to wish for. "I wish for... ummm..." "Come on, hurry up, I don't have all day. There has to be something you've always wanted!" exclaimed the genie. "Alright, I think I know what my first wish will be... I wish for... " he really had no idea what he wanted. His life was fine like it was. Something had to make it better, he just didn't know what. "Argh, I wish I knew what I wanted!" he mumbled to himself. "Wish granted" exclaimed the genie. "No! I didn't really want that as a wish... but I guess it will help me with my next wish..."
