Rainbow Kage and Rasgos Return

1. Back again! And so soon… the thought made her want to shiver with anticipation. Rainbow Kage was nervous, it was true, but not nearly as much as she had been last time. So much had changed since last time though; she now had two gorgeous young pups and had fallen in love. And now she was here to see Rasgos again.

2. Once again it was Rasgos who was here first. But not because Ryuu had dropped him off much earlier then Rainbow Kage, this time it was because he was looking forward so much to seeing her again, he just hadn’t been able to stay away. He hadn’t been waiting here very long really though. He wouldn’t mind waiting forever for her anyway.

3. She couldn’t believe how much her attitude had changed towards this place. It was no longer too bright and scary, it was peaceful and welcoming. She still found it odd to think that she now had two pups to care for, and now that she was here, she would soon have more. But she loved her pups. She had never thought of herself having pups at all until recently. Now she was looking forward to more! How thing had changed…

4. He was waiting in the same clearing as last time and knew that she would find him here. Rasgos hoped she was looking forward to meeting him as much as he was looking forward to seeing her once again. She must do, he told himself, they had both felt that odd, special connection. There was no way that she couldn’t be eager to see him again like he was to see her after that, right? Right! He told himself, his stripy tail waving happily from side to side in anticipation.

5. Rainbow Kage didn’t hesitate when she reached the entrance like she had done last time, and she hadn’t needed Ryuu to bring her here, this time she had come alone. She immediately started walking down the path she had taken last time, her strong sense of smell leaving her in no doubt that he had come this way. She had already guessed he would be waiting for her in the same place as usual though, their special place.

6. Rasgos had his ears pricked up, rotating slightly as they strained to catch the faint pawfulls that would announce her imminent arrival. If last time was anything to judge by though, it would be her two tails swishing from side to side that would alert him to her presence. All the time Rasgos stared at the place that Rainbow Kage had appeared form last time, waiting for it to happen again.

7. Just a couple more corners to round… her twin tails started to wag in anticipation, brushing the sides of the hedges and tall grass’s that she passed. A sudden doubt entered her mind, what if he wasn’t there?
She pushed it aside, even if he wasn’t there when she arrived, he would come. There’s no way she could feel so strongly about him without him having similar feelings himself, right? Right! She had felt the connection between them, there was no lie in either of their feelings!

8. He was right. A small smile played across Rasgos’s dark face with its rainbow patterns. He could here the faint sound of her two tails hitting the things she passed lightly. There was a slight pause in her tails wagging, he thought. Or perhaps it wasn’t close enough to anything to brush against and cause a noise…
What did it matter anyway? He stood up, his own tail wagging more then ever as he eagerly awaited for her to come round the last corner…

9. Pushing the last of her worries away she let her tails swish from side to side once again, and taking a deep breath, rounded the final corner.
And there he was, her Dark pelted rainbow prince.
Rainbow Kage couldn’t help letting out a happy yelp of greeting, and without meaning to she found her pace peeking up from a walk to a trot, to a run as she joyfully bounded across the grassy clearing that separated them.

10. Here she was! His beloved Rainbow Kage! Her dark pelt. Only a shade or two lighter then his, a shadow beneath slightly faded, but clearly rainbow strips.
As she ran to meet him, Rasgos’s heart soared. He barked delightedly back, jumping briefly up onto his stripy back legs in excitement. He landed back on all four paws in time to meet Rainbow Kage. She didn’t slow down enough to avoid bumping into Rasgos, and when she did he let himself get bowled over by her momentum, yipping playfully to let her know it was all part of a game. Then he bounded back onto his paws, and without a pause, shot off away from her, calling back for her to chase him.

11. She had meant to slow down enough to stop before she reached him, but for some reason it just hadn’t happened. She ended bumping into him, and when Rainbow Kage saw him topple over, she thought for a second that he had done so because she had bumped into him so hard. But then the sound of his voice and his body language let her know it was all part of a game. A game! Yay! She saw him pick himself up and quickly sprint away. Immediately she went bounding after him, yipping happily back to him.

12. Rasgos was quiet a way ahead now, and slowed down slightly. He turned round to se how far away Rainbow Kage was from him now, bouncing up onto his back paws a coupe of times, his tail waving furiously. Rainbow Kage soon reached him, and once again he let himself get bowled over by her. But now she was running off in front of him and it was his turn to race after her, on the playful attack.

13. She caught up, and crashed into him, with a little more force then before as this was on purpose, but not enough to hurt him. He just went with the momentum, letting her nock him down. Rainbow Kage didn’t stop to see him get back up again but raced off round the large clearing, moving her pink little paws across the grass as fast as she could. This was so much fun! Her heart was beating, her legs racing and her heart soaring, a creature full of life.

14. Right. Now it was his turn to get her! Rasgos ran after Rainbow Kage, slowly gaining ground on her as he took short cuts round the large, circular clearing they were playing in. He kept trying to race across the grass to cut her off, but she would simply change direction and hare off in a different direction. She was very fast but he been using up a lot less energy then her, she would run out of energy far faster then Rasgos would. Then he would move in for the kill!

15. She could see what his tactic was. Rasgos kept cutting across the clearing to be infront of her when she ran round, forcing her to scoot round him as best she could or arc round to go in the opposite direction. It was wearing her out without making him even break a sweat. It was working too, she could feel herself breathing a lot harder then she had been earlier and she was starting to slow slightly. Rainbow Kage wondered what the rest of Rasgos’s plan was. What was he going to do once she had slowed down enough to easily catch up with her?
