He sniffed the air. Sulphur. Yes, he was here. Stepping out, he found himself standing on the familiar stony ground, the pitch black darkness surrounding his head. He didn't know much about this place-he didn't even know where it was or how he got there-but what he did know was it was his place. He glanced around and the landscape, taking it all in. It was grey mostly, grey and black. Grey floor, black sky. Simple, just the way he liked it. Almost like himself really. It was fairly chilly but calmly so, almost relaxing even. The entire place looked like it was enclosed in a cave, the ground being rocky and tough. Despite the blackness he could see fine, another impossibility of this world that he didn't care enough to explain. Octile padded round cautiously, checking to see that no one else had gotten in. Satisfied no one was there, he lay down and began to think. That's what he did here. Think. This was his place away from home, somewhere where he could escape his pack. He would always go back of course, loyalty being his first priority. But for now he could just have some peaceful time. Alone (OOC: Anyone's free to join and all Volpes can speak to each other here)

Dingo sighed. He was lost, and he knew it. Not to mention how sacred he was. The young Volpe had never been anywhere so dark. He could see, which was strange, but he was still frightened. As he crested another hill in this never ending landscape, Dingo spotted a mahogany and white form not too far away. He now knew he wasn't alone here. He made to call out, but something stopped him. Maybe it was a fear of what this place might do to him if he spoke. This was, of course, irrational. He knew that. Still... this place was a strange one.

Gazing up at the dark ceiling, he frowned and pricked his ears. It was always quiet, silent even. So why could he hear something? It was a quiet sound, almost like breathing...
Turning round, he scanned the cave carefully, a stormy expression on his face. How dare someone else come here? It was his. He searched for a few minutes until he spied a golden blur. Lowering his ears, he got to his feet and padded across the stony ground. Time to sort this stranger out.
As he got nearer he caught a better glimpse of his intruder. Golden fur, fluffy tail, rather puppyish look if he was honest. Deciding to use a defensive tone rather than one of anger, he waited until he was close enough before speaking.
"You! What are you doing here?"

Hyacinth walked slowly through the darkness. It seemed so dull and foreboding and shadowy. Almost..cursed. Though something led her here, a mystical power the inspired her. Hyacinth could sense life here. Then, she pictured meeting someone or something who could tell her what this place was...Now she was having second thoughts on if she was even awake. Hyacinth recalled reading a poem that reminded her of this exact moment in time. The place where the atmosphere was serene and calming. Whether a dark shadow crossed her path, she became oblivious to it, and entranced in the soft hushing echoing the cave, what she believed was the melody of the wind.
Then, breaking her mode of silence, a voice rang. Two figures stood. She could feel a little tension. Hyacinth gazed out there in the darkness. The uncomfortable thoughts of her presence not belonging here, faltered her step, and she moved more in a backwards motion. She then spoke out, trying to comfort herself and maybe the other volpe, "Hello? Can anyone just give me some directions or tell me where I am? This place is totally wicked, by the way, but I really must get a move on."

He blinked in alarm at the sound of another voice. What, more people? This place was getting crowded! One had been bad enough but now...He temporarily forgot the Golden Volpe as he turned round, determined to find the source of this new voice.
Octile spotted her almost instantly. Her blue fur seemed unnaturally bright to him in this world of shadows, and she wasn't exactly camouflaged. He had been about to snap at her, tell her to go away or something to that effect. He was thrown slightly by her comment though. She liked this place, and though he didn't know why that was important to him. So once again he withheld his rage and instead called out to her.
"Directions? Not likely. And as for where you are I don't exactly know." Well, it was the truth. He came here often but he didn't really know where here was. But he knew it was his

"I.. Um... I... Well, you see..." Dingo stuttered, slightly frightened by the tone of the other Volpe's voice. Then, he became aware of how strange it was to be speaking to this Volpe anyway. He usually communicated in barks aor yips, and recognized them as sich. But now, his speech sounded more like the words his human used to talk to him. He heard another voice not too far off, asking for directions. They were probably about as lost as he was.

Hyacinth glanced at golden volpe and then back to the red volpe. Hyacinth's mood changed. She bared her teeth, just slightly enough to be noticed. She definitely wasn't going to be immateur and be stupidly territorial about some place she had no clue about, but Hyacinth wasn't afraid to sort out and take charge, at least to resolve the mishap in this situation.
Hyacinth then replied, not having the same tone as the red one did, but a little calmer, saying, "I'm sorry to upset you. If you want me to leave so badly, you could at least...try..to lead me somewhere else, or away from you, if you please. I won't stay here any longer, but I plan on enjoying myself today, and things like this don't happen to often. I doubt you care what I think, but nevertheless, I will not be forced out of here, thank-you-very-much." Hyacinth breathed a sigh of relief, getting all that off her chest. But maybe she was overreacting...She thoughtfully looked at the two and said, becoming her mellow-self again. "I'm sorry. This isn't going the way it should be. I can leave you two if you want me to. Just please accept my compliment that I really do think your place, The Dark World, is quite splendid. I think we kind of got off on the wrong foot, so I'll start over and introduce myself: OK, hello, I am Hyacinth. It's a pleasure to meet you. And you two, what might be your names?"
Hyacinth quietly walked up to them and relaxed. She thought to herself, 'Ah, I see this is going to an..uncomfortable situation, but I suppose I must deal with it the best I can...'

His expression darkened as he noticed her bared teeth. She was threatening him? His fur bristled slightly, ready to leap into action and- His frowned slightly as the female yelled at him. Well, maybe yelled was a little strong but even so. Octile wasn't used to being talked to this way and it confused him momentarily. By the time she had finished her speech he was speechless, staring at her in shock. he stood silently for a moment, his unclear expression making it impossible to guess what he was going to do next. Finally, he opened his mouth and...laughed.
It wasn't a mocking laugh, more of an amused one. He liked this female, she had spunk-a thing he rarely saw that often. When he was done he listened carefully to what she said next.
"I'm Octile. Nice to meet you I guess," He stated, not used to laughing so much, "And it's okay I suppose. I mean, you don't have to go. Either of you," He paused for a moment, gazing up at the foreboding ceiling, "I'm sorry if you're lost, but I can't really help you out. I don't know my way around this place you see. I've been here a lot, but everywhere pretty much looks the same. I have no idea how large it is, or how to get back out," A small grin played on his lips, "Sorry to sound so negative."
