It was rather hard being here alone. Of course, Fleck knew she wouldn’t be alone for long. But even so. She was used to being with her half-sister and their friends. It was hard to stop yourself being nervous when you had no one to convince you otherwise. Another thing was making her nervous. Fleck had never considered herself to be pretty. It wasn’t in a self-pitying way, but she knew her place. Odette was the pretty one. Icepop had lovely fur, and a bubbly personality to match. And she herself…well, she was the funny one. The nice one. But guys never seemed to fall for the nice one 1/25

It hadn’t taken much convincing to get him here. Not when it had been the leader of the Celestial Pack who had asked him to do so. He liked Nadir, and respected her opinion. Still, he couldn’t help but wonder who it was she had chosen to set him up with. Didi? He hoped not. She was too vain for his liking. Odette? Perhaps. She was certainly pretty, although he wasn’t sure she had much going on up there. Icepop? She had unbelievably lovely fur, although she was too much of a mate for Odyssey to see her as anything else. First of all, he had to locate this female. Musing over the several members of the pack, he wandered round dreamily. It was a very poetic place here. He quite liked the picturesque beauty of it. He’d be happy to spend some time here 2/25

Feeling uncertain, Fleck shuffled her paws gently. The grass was soft and it smelt quite sweet, like it had recently been cut. She glanced down at her paws curiously. She had always liked her feet. It seemed strange, but she thought her 'socks' were quite cute really. She had always wondered how to describe that brownish-tan colour of her right paw.
Anyway, she was getting distracted. She had to find this male. Nadir hadn't told her who it was-only that she'd know as soon as she saw him. She wasn't really sure where she should go first. What if she never found him? What if she just wandered aimlessly for days on end, all alone?
She'd been walking while she was thinking these thoughts. Unfortunately, she hadn't been paying attention to where she was going. She barely acknowledged the sight of another Volpe in front of her, before she ended up crashing headfirst into him. Ow

He had been admiring the landscape quietly, when suddenly something came walking round the corner straight into him. He had barely time to blink in surprise before the Volpe had already smacked into him, sending him backwards and hitting their head in the process.
Odyssey had always prided himself on being a gentleman, so when he saw it was a female who had bashed into him he automatically ignored any injuries of his own, instead racing foward to make sure she was okay. Are you alright? He gazed down at where the female was now lying. She looked like she was in pain...She also looked familiar.
Fleck?

Ouch, that had really hurt. Not only had she hit her head, but she'd been knocked back several feet too. No doubt she'd develop a few bruises by tomorrow. Still, it had probably been her fault. She should apologize to the male.
Before she had a chance, the male was by her side and asking her all sorts of questions. She felt a little woozy, but she was sure that voice was familiar. Glancing up, a smile of recognition spread across her face. Odyessy! She tried to get to her feet, but collapsed again Ow, that hurts. What are you doing here? Stupid question, but it hadn't dawned on Fleck that he was here to see her Sorry about crashing into you like that She grinned bashfully, all nerves gone. Odyessy was her friend-she was sure he wouldn't mind this sudden collision

He couldn't help grinning back at the sight of her. She had one of those infectious grins-slightly goofy but filled with pure warmth. At least she looked happy to see him. He was rather concerned that she couldn't get up though. He hoped she hadn't been hurt badly.
It's okay. It was probably my fault Ever the gentleman. Her next question was rather awkward. He blushed, trying to figure out how to answer it Well...I'm here for you I guess. I mean, I'm here to meet you. I think...I think Nadir set us up Uh oh. Maybe she wouldn't be so pleased to see him now

A frown crossed her face briefly. He was here to...oh, of course! Instantly a pale blush spread across her cheeks. That had been rather stupid of her. Still, it was odd to see Odyssey here. She had never looked at him that way, although she knew other members of her pack had. Still, he had lovely eyes. That deep bright blue that was oddly hypnotizing...
Oh right! A smile spread across her mouth again and she mimed hitting herself in the forehead. Then winced as she really did hit herself Sorry. I just didn't think I guess. Well, it's slightly weird seeing you here. I didn't mean that in a rude way-it's been a while since you visited the pack Even when his reasons for being there were clear, she still felt no nerves. She couldn't be nervous around him. It just wouldn't make sense

Uh oh. Definitely not a good sign. Odyssey began to worry as he watched her frowning. Was it too late to make a break for it? No, wait...it was okay. At least, she was smiling again. That had to be good right?
Yes. I've been traveling again. Visited a couple of other packs. Ran into a small incident with the Umbrage Tribe His entire manner of speaking fitted the role of storyteller perfectly. His voice was clear, loud and fitted emotion into the phrases at exactly the right time. He knew very well how to captivate his audience. However, he wasn't quite ready to begin his story yet. He noticed Fleck still hadn't gotten up Are you sure you're okay?

There was no denying it-he was good. His story had barely begun, and yet Fleck was already intrigued. She knew more than most about the Umbrage Tribe. Unfortunately. Her half-sister Icepop frequently visited them, much to her own discomfort. Fleck had tried to convince her to stop, but to no avail. She claimed that they were 'harmless really' and that she should 'stop being so boring!'. She could be so stubborn sometimes!
Odyssey's question brought her back to reality. Huh? Oh yeah, I'm okay. I just hurt my back slightly when I fell. It will be fine in a little while Okay, so she couldn't get up. But it didn't feel permanently damaged. Besides, she wanted to hear his story So what happened with you and the Umbrage Tribe?

Hmm. He wasn't entirely convinced that she was okay. Still, there was little he could do about it. Walking over to a nearby rock, he settled himself down on it. For the first time he could focus on the area they were in. It was pretty much perfect-a small clearing filled with soft clovers, surrounded by a ring of high grass. Quite private, and the perfect arena for a storyteller to weave his magic.
It was a beautiful summer's day He began with a smile. His eyes lit up, and it was pretty obvious how much he loved telling tales I had just finished my visit to the Skylark pack and was feeling quite happy. They have two litters of pups this season, both quite the adorable babies. I don't know how much they understood, but they seemed to enjoy my story. Indeed, I was in high spirits...So lost in thought that I mistakenly wandered off the path. It was several meters before I realized, and by that time I found myself completely surrounded by woodland. I was, unfortunately, quite lost Odyssey paused here, partly for breath and partly for dramatic effect. One had to do that when telling stories

Yep, he was definitely good. She could practically feel the sunshine now, hear the sounds of the woodland. Only the revelation of new pups could momentarily distract her. She hadn't heard about any new pups. Fleck adored puppies-sweet little things, filled with fun! She'd have to see if she could visit them.
She was going to ask who had had the puppies, but it would have been rude to interrupt his story. She could always just ask Nadir later. After all, she was bound to know. Eagerly Fleck settled herself down and waited for the next part of the story

Now, one is never sure what to do in these situations. Should you continue to wander carelessly, getting more and more lost? Should you try and turn back, just returning to the place you started? Should you try and find someone, risking running into a dangerous type? I'm afraid that I, unfortunately, chose the third option. Which involved doing a bit of option one too He was pleased by how interested she seemed in his story. It was nice to have someone listen so intently. Made you feel wanted, important.
After a while, I came upon a slightly muddier area. There I saw a Volpe hiding in the trees. Naturally, I was so pleased to have seen someone, I didn't stop to wonder about who it might be. I wish I had...

As I drew closer, I saw that the Volpe was of the Normal species, a female. Her fur was a dark brown colour, and she had the most curious markings I have ever seen. On her legs were tan-coloured shapes that looked astonishingly like bones. Along her back were some maroon stripes that also ran down her tail, giving the impression of blood. But the thing which was most curious of all about her was her eyes. For, instead of pupils, she had a gaping black socket! His voice came alive at this point. Odyssey was known for his skill with descriptions. They were sometimes long-winded, but always captivating.
I sensed that perhaps I should not approach her, but by then it was too late. She had spotted me. So, being one who believes in the proverb 'Don't judge a book by it's cover', I wandered over in order to say hello and explain my plight

Several times, different members of the pack were often unsure Odyssey told the truth. Sometimes his stories were so fantastical, it seemed impossible that he was being entirely honest. Even Fleck had doubted him occasionally. However, this story certainly had a grain of truth in it. She knew (from Ice) that the female he was describing was known as 'Lacerate'.
A frown crossed her face. From what she could remember, Lacerate wasn't the nicest Volpe around. Actually, she was apparently one of the worst. She pricked her ears once more, ready to listen. How had he managed to escape?

I knew at once I had made a mistake. Her mouth grew into a smile as I continued to explain, a grin of pure, morbid ecstasy. After I finished, she stood silent for a minute or two. I tried to excuse myself, but it was too late. Suddenly she jumped up and let out a loud cry. It was a single word, but a terrifying one-Attack! He paused, a grinned. It really was nice how carefully this female was listening. Her toffee coloured eyes were shining brightly-hopefully in excitement.
Suddenly, I noticed there were dark shapes in the surrounding bushes. Knowing nothing good could possibly come of me staying, I turned and quickly began to race away. I could hear those shadows gaining on me, rustling through the plants just a few steps behind me. I didn't stop running until I reached the mountains. It was there I felt so exhausted I couldn't help but collapse. Turning round, I waited helplessly...But nothing followed
