So, was she stopping, then? He couldn't tell... perhaps she was waiting to see what his answer was, first. "That's not in my plans today, no," he replied crisply, keeping his head high beside her. He let loose another open-mouthed grin at her, hoping to catch her attention. She was just so... wow! He couldn't explain it, but something about this fiesty, odd-looking female just made his tail wag. Whatever it was, natural attraction or some fluke of the world, he was grateful for it. It made the day one hell of a great day for this dog.

She gave a gentle sigh, a little smile of her own appearing at her muzzle. "I didn't think so..." She let herself relax and drop back to meet him completely, flying gently in time beside him. He was larger than her, certainly, with stronger shoulders and even bigger wings. They were tipped with pastel colors, and she noticed that if his breath caught the wind the right way it almost seemed to... shimmer. Who was this strange, nameless male? Names aside, she suddenly didn't mind his company so much anymore. She couldn't help but wonder why...

She wasn't running away anymore - that was good. He let his own self relax, slowing as well to make things easier for her. He let her ride his draft, holding her higher on her damaged wings. He wondered, suddenly, how she'd gotten such scars... but before he could say anything about that, his eyes fell to the land down below. It was a place thick with even lusher plant life, tall rocks of moss, and winding rivers of rich blues and greens. He looked over at his new parter for the day, the grin still on his face. "Care for a rest, pretty lady?"

She followed his gaze downward, and surprise flowed from her. What a place! Clearly they'd strayed deep enough to find just the area she'd been seeking before. It wasn't like the canyons back home, but... she might have liked it even more. She nodded to him, eyes sparking for once. "Why the hell not? Let's go." With that she folded her wings and dropped, aiming for a particularly tall rock that parted the green-blue streams down below. She could land there easily enough - and maybe that would impress Mr. Polite here, if he was so cocky about himself.

Was she really going in for a landing like that? He dropped back and watched, eager to see if she could make it. After all, certain spots on that rock were slick with moss, and spray from the mists and flowing water had dampened the rest. "Good luck!" He called after her, flapping his wings to help the current flow her along towards the rock. That would certainly be an accomplishment if she made it, but he worried for if she missed...

She spread her wings to help slow down, giving a few quick flaps. She spread her paws out at first, letting her cat-like claws slip out, and then as the air flowed softly beneath her, she set her paws carefully on the clear and dry tip of the rock. All her paws bunched together, and her spine was bent into a perfect arc. She looked over her shoulder at the male, flashing him a grin of her own. Haha, she'd just love to see him try to beat that one.

Impressive! She was fiesty, beautiful, and skilled. What more could he ask for. "Aah, I think I'm in love," he sighed to himself, before gliding down to her. He wondered as he went - was he? Was this what falling in love was like? He couldn't tell, and surely it was too soon? He had no idea... but he did wonder. He landed on the shore nearby, beneath the edge of grove. "Quite the landing, pretty lady!" he called to her, grinning ever more. Yes... she was something.

She was beginning to like that nickname, 'pretty lady'. At least, the way he said it. It wasn't sickeningly polite, or taunting her in the opposite way, it was just... a name. An almost sweet name. People rarely talked to her like that. It just.. didn't happen, no when you were here. Not when had her body. She turned, keeping her grip on the rock, and leapt towards him. A single flap of her wings carried her across, and she landed beside him. "Mmm, I know," she said, flipping her tail across his muzzle. "What else did you expect, Mr. Polite?"

Was she teasing him, flipping her tail at his nose like that? His mouth opened wider, his eyes took on a sparkle. Well, if that was the way she wanted things, he wasn't the type to refuse. "My apolgies," he said, following after her. "I should never have doubted you. Clearly I had nothing to worry about." He was really beginning to wonder if he had been right about his thinking earlier. No one, no matter how long they'd spent together, had given him this odd sensation in his stomach.

She let him follow as she padded around the edge of the rocky, river-twisted groves, taking in the still-misty atmosphere of the morning here. She wasn't sure why she didn't mind so much anymore, him being there, but she even was starting to like it. ...okay, 'starting' wasn't the right term. She enjoyed his presence now, feeling his cool, long fur beside hers. It was strange, unfamiliar... untouched. If there was thing she knew about the world, however, it was this - she liked it.

He followed her where she went, letting his paws fall beside hers. They crossed through the trees, brushing the lush grass and soft undergrowth. The stuck to the side of the misted stream, eyes watching the water twist and twirl in the air. They turned, eventually, crossing over an arched bridge of dark wood. He paused in the middle with her, letting out a contented sigh that filled the air with the misty colors of his breath. He'd seen nothing like this before - it gave him chills.

She watched his breath twirl in the air with fascination, the colors continueing to dance in her vision even once she closed her eyes. She'd never seen anything like that come from the mouth of a Volpe, no matter how the morning was. She looked at him, green eyes wide. "How... how can you do that?" She asked, head tilted in curiosity. It had to be some form of magic - how could some creature look and act as he, and not be touched? He surely had to be... it gave her chills.

Aah, so she'd finally asked. He looked at her, seeming almost amused. "That, not even I know. It's just how I am." He looked at her for a few seconds, trying to assess her reaction. "...do you like it, pretty lady?" He thought she did, by the breathless way she'd asked about it. The thought pleased him, that it had pleased her. He still wasn't sure why, but he thought he was beginning to get a grasp on it. After all, it was midsummer, wasn't it? What better time was there?

So it remained a mystery. She thought she would be disappointed by an answer like that, but it only drove her on. It made this pull to the winged male stronger, heightened the attraction. "Yes... yes I do," she admitted in that same breathless voice, drawing closer to him. "I've... I've never seen anything like that, the way the colors came from your breath and mixed with the white mix. It was... beautiful." She felt herself flush beneath her fur - had she really just said that? It was nothing like her! It was, it was... it was just so different.

"I'm glad..." His voice was soft now, and his body was still as he raised himself up to look at her. She was small, but not delicate. Fiesty, but she had a sensitive side. She could hold her own, no doubt about that, but she was just as vulnerable to the power of emotion as he was. There was... there was no mistaking now. As he stared into the eyes of this lithe little female he knew. He just... knew.
