Oakstar x Sandpool [Hybred][Fin~ <3]

Oakstar was curled up at the base of a tree, his black mane standing out against his white fur. He was asleep; no, he wasn't lazy or anything, he was tired. Since he had come to the EarthSong Pack, he had been reunited with his former deputies--their names had been Rainfeather and Bravepool, but since then, both had changed their names to Rainstar and Bravestar respecitvely--followed by Darkheart, who wanted to take over the 'pack' that he ran, and was attacked by a Bloodwar Volpe.

Sandpool, on the other hand, was quite hyper, despite having been on a night-long patrol of the EarthSong Pack's territory. After all, in such a short span of time, she and her brother had found a new home, been introduced to the former leader of a pack that Rainstar and Bravestar were from, been attacked, and been accused of being false in their powers to detect poisoned waters.

It's just something in the scent of the water. It smells weird. Sometimes it smells good, but that's when you have to run as though your life depended on it. She'd told the others. One of the Bloodwars and the dark Glamour didn't believe her. However, Oakstar believed her.

And Oakstar's nap was about to be rudely ended as Sandpool pounced upon him.

"...! Sandpool!"

The Glamour Volpe sighed as he stretched out, yawning widely as he opened his blue eyes sleepily. "And I was enjoying a rather nice nap... have you any idea how exhausting it is to keep up with your two former deupties while trying to oust the plans of the Volpe that scared them away with death threats?" he asked, fixing his eyes on the light tan-colored K9 Volpe.

Sandpool giggled as she said, "Sorry, I couldn't help it~ and I've never been a leader before, I just saved mine and my brother's pack from dying." She sat down, her tan tails moving at super-sonic speed as she looked at Oakheart. "You said that you'd tell me about the pack that you lead that one time, before Rainstar and Bravestar had to leave. Please, please tell me about it~"

...this is going to be an interesting day...

Oakstar lounged comfortably as he said, "It is not a story that I tell lightly. It is actually a fairly complex story, and it will require you to sit still so that you'll catch all of the names. I suppose I should tell them to you now: me, of course, you know; then, there are Rainfeather and Bravepool--you know them as Rainstar and Bravestar--and lastly, there is Darkheart."

Here, he paused, yawning lazily.

Sandpool made a pouting face when Oakstar said that she would need to sit still. But, when he started talking about the people involved in the story, she sat relatively still--something that amazed even her. "Okay. So you, Rainstar, Bravestar, and Darkheart. I know that Rainstar and Bravestar are Raindrop and Lion Royals, and you and Darkheart are Glamour Royals."

Oakstar nodded as he said, "It was a dark night, and I was in a group of Volpes that considered themselves rouges. They'd made me their leader because I had the most commanding tone of any of the Volpes there. We stumbled across three Royal pups that night; we named them Rainpaw, Bravepaw, and Darkpaw. They were the sweetest pups any of the femmes had seen to date. Rainpaw--who would become Rainfeather, who would become Rainstar--and Bravepaw--who would become Bravepool, then Bravestar--were well-behaved and quickly advanced in the ranks of the pack. Darkpaw--you know him as Darkheart--was not as nice as them."

Sandpool nodded as she listened to this. "So you've raised those three since they were pups, huh? That's amazing! How have they changed since you found them? I mean, I know how Darkheart turned out, obviously, but what do you think about the other two?" she asked. Her curiosity was not easily stented, that much was certain.

Oakstar rolled his eyes as he said, "One moment, Sandpool." He rolled over onto his back and sighed as he said, "Rainfeather was a marvelous warrior. Bravepool became her apprentice after his old mentor retired. He's only a couple moons younger than her, we determined later; but I noticed something between them that Darkheart also noticed--they were in love."

He cleared his throat. "I'm sure you know that it is generally frowned upon for apprencites and mentors to fall in love."

Sandpool's tails were moving at escape velocity now. "Ohmigosh I didn't realize that their love had started off so... so scandalously!" she said, almost jumping off of the ground and onto Oakstar. But, after a moment, she asked--in a slightly more composed voice--"So what did they do about it?"

"Well, I'm sure you know they didn't let it get in their way. However, Darkheart would go to Rainfeather and tell her that he knew about her and Bravepool. When she became the deputy, he was furious. He threatened that, if I were to pass on and she became the leader, he would kill her. So, to save her own skin--she dared not doubt him--she left us and started her own pack."

Here, he paused as he mused, "Which, now I have been inducted into..."

Sandpool laughed as she said, "That's pretty amazing. I never would have guessed that she was in danger for her life, though--at least, not before I met Darkheart. Can I be honest and say that I have no IDEA what you were thinking when you took him in, too?" she asked, her eyes narrowing into slits. Now, Darkheart had come back to haunt those of his former pack. Lovely.

Oakstar sighed as he said, "I took him in because I saw good in him. However, he proved me wrong. My pack has since disbanded... Darkheart started rumors about me that involved a neighboring pack. We were a pack of rogues... we aren't supposed to care about boundaries." He shook his head. "As much as I adored the leader of that pack, she was too reckless."

Sandpool tilted her head. "Who was it? Was it, by chance, Gingerstar?" she asked. "I ask because I heard rumors about her and a Glamour Volpe. I was thinking about that just now... is it coinscidence or... what?" she asked. If it was Gingerstar... then...

Oakstar blinked as he said, "Why do you ask? Because her name is Gingerstar, as a matter of fact. Do you... do you know her?"

As he asked this, he thought about what that meant. Sandpool would know about all of the rumors that had been started, doubtless, but would she know the truth about him? And if she didn't, would she accept it?
