Gifa returned the smile with another. It wasn't the same since he had a beak and she had a mouth but it was the thought that counts. He waited as she thought it over. Gifa began to wonder what she would say. He didn't know her well so he really couldn't guess.
Wolf volpes? There was such a thing? Gifa had never heard of them, of course Gifa hadn't heard of a lot of things. The wild? A shiver went down Gifa's back. He wasn't fond of the wild even though he had never really been."I've never heard of the wolf Volpes but I do know about the wild." Gifa explained."The wolf volpes sound... like something to see." Gifa added, searching for the words.

She saw the smile this time. Though his mouth was so different than her's, she only had to look for it in order to see it. Perhaps they weren't so different after all. The thought made her bold, and she began talking about the wolf Volpes.
"My owner says that they're huge Volpes that live wild and free." She began, eyes sparkling as she thought of them. "They live deep in forests, away from humans, and somehow manage to survive. I wouldn't want to be one of course, I would hate to lose my owner, but it would be interesting to learn about them, a new kind of Volpe.
Rainstorm nodded his head and smiled. This was heading in the right direction. Now if only Gifa would take the hint and begin to tell Perfection what griffen Volpes were like. It might get Perfection over her sudden shyness, and if that didn't work, then Rainstorm would find a way.

Gifa listened wide-eyed. He drank in each word now wanting to learn as much as he could. Gifa nodded as Perfection spoke. Living without an owner? Surviving on your own? Didn't sound like something Gifa would want to do. Never wanting to lose your owner? Gifa couldn't agree with that. Maddy was alright but just a touch odd. Heck, she was weird. Gifa would leave her in a heartbeat if had somewhere else to go, but he didn't so he stayed.
Gifa didn't caught the hint. Perhaps it was because he was now thinking about the wolf Volpes. Did they have sharp teeth? What did they eat? Did they live in packs? Did they have a bossy king? Those were the thoughts they whirled around in Gifa's head."They sound interesting." Gifa replied."I would love to see them." he added.

Rainstorm sighed and rolled his eyes again. "Stupid feather head." He muttered under his breath, soft enough that even Perfection couldn't hear him. These two were not makng this easy, that was for sure. At this rate it would take them a year to get to know each other.
"I'm not a bloody match maker." He growled to himself as he scampered off of Perfection's back and ran over to Gifa. He climbed up the griffen Volpe's scaly front leg as though he were a squirrel and perched on his head. He made his way over to one of his ears and began whispering into it.
"Listen beak-face, if yah wanna get ta know her betta, ask her abou' herself, or tell her how pretty she looks or something. Unless yah wan' us all to freeze our fur off out here, I suggest ya take my advice." He stayed up there. Gifa, in Rainstorm's mind, had no experience with this sort of thing, and so needed his help more than Perfection did.
Perfection didn't have anything else to say about wolf Volpes or any other topic to talk about, so she just nodded her head and wondered what Rainstorm was telling him.

Gifa felt the urge to run away, far away. The fox was getting on him! That could not be good. What was Rainstorm going to do? Maybe Gifa didn't want to find out. Beak-face? Did Rainstorm just call him beck-face? Gifa listened anyway. It couldn't hurt right? He nodded while Rainstorm spoke, like he had done with Perfection."Your fur is very pretty." Gifa finally said. I would put my money on them freezing their furs off. Gifa felt proud at what he had said. He then felt the need to add something else, just to add to the effect."Your eyes shine." This was going to take awhile.

Perfection blinked, and blushed, but she raised her tail proudly. Though she couldn't tell if the compliment had come from Rainstorm's mind or Gifa's, it still felt nice to be told that she was pretty. She tipped her head to the side, looking at Gifa with a bit less shyness than before. She felt the need to compliment him too.
"You..." She stopped, then gathered her courage again. "You look so strong and graceful, like what I've always imagined the wolf Volpes to look like." She blushed more and dropped her eyes again, still embarassed, but feeling a tiny bit better.

He had done it! Gifa didn't hide his joy or pride from Perfection. His eyes shone with it. Gifa was taken aback when Perfection complimented him. He hadn't expected to get one back."T-thank you" Gifa stumbled. He kept his eyes locked on her. Gifa was feeling as uncomfortable as before and he guessed that Perfection wasn't either, but it was just a guess. That was progress.

Perfection could feel his eyes on her, and she looked up, still blushing a bit. It was strange, but she was no longer thinking of Wildsong anymore, or anyone else but Gifa. Well, and Rainstorm sitting on his head, but that didn't count. She didn't feel the cold snow beneath her paws now eaither, or the breeze blowing around her fur.
She felt more confident somehow, as strange as that was. She wanted to know more about him, not just because in order to have pups with him she would need to, but because she was truly interested.
"So what are your friends like?" She asked.

Gifa blinked. He had forgotten how cold it was. The breeze had reminded him. He let his eyes sweep around drinking in the his surroundings. He then looked back at Perfection. His friends? He wouldn't really call them his 'friends'. They were who he lived with and that didn't really make them his friends."Well, I live with four royal Volpes. Drizzle, Melody, Taira and Viviac. Drizzle is the king and his is mate is Melody." Gifa explained. It would be best not to go in depth about them. They weren't they best Volpes in the world."What are your friends like?" he asked back to her.

Perfection was slightly confused at the casual way he named the Volpes, and then seemed to dismiss them. Did he not have any friends? What a sad thought. She had had Rainstorm since she had been born, and didn't know what life would be like without at least one friend always by her side. She suddenly didn't want to tell him about all her friends, because it would likely seem like bregging.
"Well, I have Rainstorm of course." She said, smiling a bit. "And a few others as well, but they aren't all that interesting." Finding herself unable to say anything yet again, she waited for Gifa's response.

Lucky you Gifa thought as Perfection told him that Rainstorm was her friend. Of course he didn't say that out loud."I am sure the are." Gifa urged now wanting to know about Perfection friends. He didn't know why he just did. Gifa wanting to know everything about Perfection. Everything.

Perfection blinked as Gifa seemed drawn to the subject of her friends. She quickly picked out only her favourites, as she really didn't want to make Gifa sad knowing she had a ton of friends, and began to talk.
"Well, there's Paradise and Fantasy." She began. "And Conflict and Wildheart, they're K9s." She didn't quite know what to say about them that wouldn't somehow hurt Gifa's feelings, so she stuck to what she thought was pretty obious about them. "They all look exactly like me, although their foxes are different colours, and they all have different personalities of course." She wasn't going to go more in depth with them unless Gifa asked.

Gifa nodded once again. He took in each word. So all her friends looked the same. They all had foxes? Joy. They were K9s? He had never met a K9, just seen one. He took the names to heart not wanting to forget them."They sound like good friends." Gifa commented not sure what else to say.

Perfection smiled. "They are, although Fantasy can be quite moody at times. Good thing Paradise keeps him in line." Once again she fell silent. This Volpe was so hard to talk to. Were all Griffen Volpes like him? She wondered as she cast about for another topic.
"Do your friends have any pups?" She asked finally.
"Real smooth fur-brain." Came the reply from up on top of Gifa's head. Rainstorm yawned slowly. These two just weren't getting it, and now their questions were boring him. He felt no want to force them to talk to each other anymore.

Gifa nodded then stored away the information."No. Drizzle would love some though but Melody isn't big on the idea." Gifa explained feeling a bit more relaxed."Coming from the rainbow fox with attitude." Gifa whispered to Rainstorm. This was hard, really hard. Gifa didn't talk to people, it just wasn't how he did things. Pretty much that meant Gifa didn't really know how to talk to someone. What could you say to them? It was easier just to stay silent.
