Who wears a hoodie to go to the beach?

It was a nimble pair of paws that danced across the surf that day. The Panda flitted lightly, used to the feel of the sand and the soak of the waves. She had learned long ago how to walk on sand properly, a skill which allowed her to continue moving with such grace. In appearance, she mostly resembled a puppy-slightly pudgy, short legs and soft fur. As soon as she stepped onto a beach the vision was shattered; no puppy could ever be as graceful as her.

Her looks weren't the only puppy-like thing. Her eyes shone brightly with excitement, and she yapped loudly as she ran. Her two curled tails wagged out of sync with each other, causing them to bump occasionally. It didn't matter to Scooti that she had crossed these sands a thousand times before. Each journey produced a new look of wonderin her eyes.

Although it might appear that the K9 was alone, she was far from it. Plodding along a few metres behind was a very different kind of Volpe. It wasn't his coat colour that set him apart from Scooti, nor his species-in fact, it was his attitude. His pigment-green eyes lacked that shine of excitement that the K9's so clearly had. His three tails dragged along the ground, leaving an interesting array of groves in the sand behind him. Overall, his expression looked angry and he was clearly fed up of his walk.

A few metres behind him was the third and final member of this gang. She was a lot different than the other two, mainly because she was human. Her normally short hair had grown, and was tied into a loose ponytail at the back of her head. Most of this hairstyle was hidden by the orange cap which had been slammed down onto her head. More worryingly was the yellow hoodie and black pants combo she was wearing, which looked far too thick and warm for a day on the beach. She didn't seem affected by the sun though-a friendly grin was pinned to her face and she was humming quietly. In her hand she carried a similarly-yellow pail, with a shovel stuffed inside. Perfect for adverturing

Stormwing blinked. Whatin the name of volpes was this place?.... Though he was prone to wondering off by himself on little adventures to places like the forest to go hunting he had never been here before. Hed never even seen the sea before. Or lots of sand either. Sure, hed seen loose sandy soil but that wasnt a pale creamy gold colour like this stuff, and it dident get inbetween your fur and feathers as much as this stuff did either...
It had taken quite a while to walk here from the crystal cavern and hed wanted to just fly on ahead but Ryuu had wanted to walk and had said it would be good for him. Really, spmetimes he just couldent unserstand Ryuu. She had wings dident she? Then why walk?
But they had arrived now... finally. They dident have any itams with them at all (he couldent imaggen having to carry something as cumbasum as a bucket and spaid with them anyway. What would he have done, gone aloung with it hanging out his mouth? No, they would just have to do without. He dident really mind any way, he could always dig with his paws or something. *sigh* He was going to be cleaning out sand from beneath his pads and talons for weeks.
But still, what an amazing sight this place was with the 'rush' of the white foam- topped waves rushing gently up to kiss the tideline and the distent call of seagulls, riding the furmals up above them. Hmm....seagulls. Prehaps he would go chase them later, show them he was king of the sky, not them. But for now all he really wanted to do was bound over to the waves and see what playing in them would be like. He was sure it would be fun. He looked round at Ryuu hoefully and she nodded. With a sound that was part bark and part screech, he tared aloung on his missmatched legs tewards the lapping waves, his wings lifted slightly in the air as though he was just resisting throwing himself into the sky.

While Scooti darted playfully in and out of the sea, Les just watched with disapproving eyes. The Panda seemed to have a look of pure happiness on her face, a kind of joy the male would never know. He didn't understand the simple pleasure of rushing into the waves, playing on the beach, being carefree. He hated being here-why couldn't Lav have come? He knew Kabuto had deliberately left her behind, coming up with some excuse that they needed space. Why? What was wrong with them being friends?

The K9 had been about to chase her tail when she spotted something out of the corner of her eye. Being the easily-distracted type, Scooti stopped what she was doing and peered closely in the direction. There it was again, a dash of Air Force blue. Barking eagerly at Les, she broke into a run, desperate to find this mysterious thing. Maybe it was something she could play with!

Spotting the normal signs of a hyper attack, Kabuto quickly began to chase after the Volpe. Clearly Scooti had seen something, and Kabs hoped to catch her before she did too much harm. She didn't want another incident like what happened with the ice creams...
Rolling his eyes, Les began to pad lazily across the sand. After all, what was the point in rushing? He'd get there eventually either way

[~*Ryuu Squall*~]

Ryuu watched happily as stormwing played, dipping his head in the waves and jumpingaway from them and chansing them and any other thing he could think of to do with them. She smiled at his antics while a light wind ruffled her long brown hair and sturred her shimmering blue dragon wings. They were not very big, she couldent fly properly like Stormwing with them but she could do short distences and glides. Her long scaly tail also blew slightly sideways in the wind as she watched.
The clothes Ryuu wore were a small pear of black shorts and a long, baggy, light pink top made of a light meterial that billowed in the wind. Not exactly fashinable but cool enough to ear on a day like this and she wasnt planning on kepping them on for much longer.
She out down a a light bag that had been slung over one shoulder and pulled off the top, the wind threatening to blow it away as it suddenly gave a strong tug. She quickly rolled it up and placed it in the bag along with her shorts. Underneath she wore a black bekiny with small mother of purl disks sowed on aloung the rim of the top and aloung the small belt that went with the bottems. Faint blue scalling came down the top of her legs before fading into skin and it was the same with her top half, she scales started just underneath the bikini top and finished some were round her navel. So even if for some reason the bikini managed to come off she wouldent be indesent. It was a reasuring thought for an insecure person like her.
She placed the bag down in a place she (hoped) she would remember and then ran over to join Stromwing.

The female was clearly the fastest of the group, reaching her goal before Kabuto could get within five feet of her. She managed to reach the thing of blue and barked out happily, before turning to examine the creature closer.

Wow. Scooti had been so fixed on the act of chasing she hadn't bothered looking at what she'd been racing towards. Standing in front of her was the most unique Volpe she had ever seen. It seemed to closely resemble a bird, although Scooti had never seen a bird as beautiful as this. It's feathers were a rich blue colour, with a hint of green-somewhat resembling the ocean. It had a beak and bird-like front legs, suggesting it could really do some damage if it wanted to.

To the small Panda Volpe, it looked amazing. Wagging her tail with delight, Scooti barked out a friendly hello.

Kabuto finally caught up with her and quickly pulled her back, in case she was about to do any damage.
"Bad girl!" She scolded gently, bending down so she was face-to-face, "What did I tell you about running off?" The K9 drooped slightly, but overall didn't look too disappointed. Kabuto had never been good at disciplining her Volpes.

Getting back up to her feet, Kabuto was surprised to see a girl standing before her. She flushed slightly, both embarrassed by her own lack of observation and Scooti's behaviour.
"Sorry about that," She smiled sheepishly, "Scooti can be a bit hyper sometimes. I hope she didn't frighten your...Volpe." Kabuto broke off, laying eyes on the Gryphon. Wow, she hadn't seen such a gorgeous one before! She hoped she wasn't being rude by staring...

[~*Ryuu Squall*~]

Ryuu looked up in surprise and blushed a little too. She hadent noticed her there either. What a pair. "Hello." Ryuu said, trying to be frinedly though her voice always came out sounding a bit like she was trying to talk like a snake. She couldent help it though. Aloung with the dragon wings, tail, scales and claws she often woke up in the morning with a toung like a snakes. Sometimes it was a normal humans but at other times it could be very heard to even talk becouse it was so snake like. Today it wasnt bad but still..
"Im sure you couldent scare Stormwing if you tried. Or at least I bet he thinks that." She replied, leaning over to him and giving him a playfull nudge.

Stormwing really dident mind being stared at. He could be rather vain at times and liked attention. He also thought this volpe with treacle like panda markings looked rather fun. He glanced up at Ryuu and she nodded to him. At once he bounded over to the other volpe and chirruped "Come play, come play!" Just becouse he was an amazingly looking, super rare, dignified breed it dident stop him wanting to just play and have fun. He dashed into the sea. realised it was a little cold and very wet, ran back out again. Realised it was even colder now he was wet outside the water then in and zoomed back in. He suddenly decided he wasnt bothered how wet he was and started to jump up or down in the surf, yelling to the K9 Volpe "Play with me, play with me!" again happily.
Ryuu laughed as she watched him. It was amusing to watch his mood swings. He went from dignafied and alouf to playfull and puppy like in about three secounds flat. She was glad she had brought him. He had never seen the beach before and she had known he would love it even if he hadent thought he would. She wasnt getting much shell hunting done like this though. Oh well, just watching Stormwing was fun enough.
Despite that, she couldent help scanning the ground, checking to see if there were any shells laying around on the sand. She knew the chances of just seing one there was extremely slim but it was teh sort of thing she couldent help doing. For a secound she thought she saw something glint in the sand but before her mind could properly register what she had seen, her eyes had flicked back to Stormwing who was throwing water at one of the other volpes using his wings. By the time she had realised what she might have actually seen a shell and looked back, she could no longer see it. She walked over to the area she had thought she saw somthing glint in but couldent see it again. Prehaps she had seen a shell but was looking in teh wrong place or prehaps it had just been a trick of the light...
