What a reaction! Idget felt quite hurt by her sharpness. Didn't she trust him? He backed away slightly, showing he wasn't going to push anything. He couldn't help being pleased when the Temprus crawled forward, although he did glance at the Volpe before making any move.
Idget took her words to heart, and gingerly lifted up a paw. As gently as he could, he began to pat the Temprus, feeling its skin. It really was the softest creature he had ever seen-not fluffy, but it didn't need to be. A grin spread across his face as he finished, stepping backwards. He glanced at the K9.
Thanks

This display of affection touched Sandy. She had to admit that Idget seemed quite sweet, despite his rather excitable nature. She was glad to see the grin back on his face. Any expression other than delighted looked out of place on his bright face.
Sorry about my reaction She apologized shyly, fidgeting It was quite rude of me Her brown eyes shone with regret. She hated being cruel to anyone.
Once Idget was done, she gently lifted up the Temprus and placed her on her back. The creature made a sweet noise before burrowing against its owner's fur happily

It's okay Idget's tail began to wag. At least he knew she had no bad feelings towards him. He watched with admiration as she handled the Temprus, fascinating by how caring she was.
What's your name by the way? He realized he didn't even know this simple fact. He had been about to ask it when she said she was going to go. She seem to have forgotten about that incident, and Idget certainly wasn't going to remind her.

My, she was forgetting her manners! Hadn't she even told him her name? Sandy It was rather a plain name in her opinion. Simple, but boring. Nowhere near as exotic as Idget.
It was certainly true that leaving was nowhere near on her mind right now. She rather liked this male-not really in a romantic way, at least not compared to how she felt for Rolo. He was sweet though, and quite cute in his own scruffy little way. She wanted to look after him, make sure he was okay

Sandy? Well, no one could say it didn't suit her. Idget thought the name matched her golden fur beautifully. Sensing she was still feeling shy, he decided to pay her a compliment to try and relax her a little.
Pretty name He beamed, bouncing slightly on the spot. The grass felt refreshingly spongy under his paws Any reason behind it? He liked it better now. She seemed to be willing to make conversation with him. He wasn't sure whether or not she liked him, but at least she wasn't running away

A blush crept across her face. She had a pretty name? That was news to her. Thank you She muttered, her tail flicking in embarrassment I don't think it has any meaning though. I'm probably only called that because of my fur. That, and the fact I live on the beach
She watched him bouncing and a ping of familiarity entered her mind. He reminded her of a puppy, which in turn reminded her of Rolo. She felt quite guilty about that thought, but it was Rolo's lovable childishness that she liked so much about him...

The beach? Idget stopped his bouncing on the spot and grinned at her with a look of excitement. He loved the beach! It was such a fantastically wonderful place, with the water and the sand. Idget loved nothing better than running through the sand, sniffing out seaweed and watching the fish...
He quickly barked this to Sandy, his tail wagging high speed once more. Although he had only been to the beach once, it was almost certainly his favourite place in the world. Excluding the meadow where he lived of course

The Volpe laughed as she saw how excited he was. She loved the beach too of course, but this Volpe really seemed to love it. When he had finished barking, a thought crept into her mind. She should-no, she couldn't. Could she?
You should come to the beach sometime The words had been yipped before she had a chance to change her mind. She began to worry-had she been too forward? What about Rolo?
In her anxiety, Sandy had completely forgotten the little creature sitting on her back. The Temprus had watched the conversation with interest throughout the entire time, and she had formed an opinion. She knew her owner clearly liked this new Volpe-and she also knew her owner well enough to know that she wouldn't do anything about it. It was time to take matters into her own claws...

A look of surprise appeared on the Volpe's face, as he watched the Temprus on Sandy's back seemingly slip off. Worry filled his eyes as the tiny creature hurtled towards the ground with frightening speed. Acting on instinct, Idget threw himself at the Temprus and caught the critter quickly in his mouth, carefully avoiding biting it with his teeth.
Filled with anxiety, he placed it down on a soft bit of grass and began to study it. Are you okay? Did I hurt you? Once he was assured by the creature that she was okay, he turned to Sandy.
Erm, sorry I had to grab her. She was falling and I didn't really know what else to do... He was anxious again, but this time for a different reason You don't hate me do you?

The last few seconds seemed like minutes to Sandy. She hadn't even felt the Temprus slipping, let alone had time to react. She was rather stunned actually, and extremely thankful that Idget had saved her.
Hate you? Despite the current situation, Sandy felt like laughing. He was so funny sometimes! Don't be silly, you're practically a hero! A bit of an exaggeration perhaps, but that was how relieved Sandy felt. Rushing forwards, she checked over the Temprus just like Idget had done.
Thank you She grinned in gratitude. Before she could think about it, she leaned over and gave him an affectionate nuzzle. When she pulled away, the blush was back on her cheeks Sorry she added bashfully
Don't be Idget was grinning even wider than before, his tail wagging again. He had to admit she was beautiful, and he had no qualms about her hugging him if she wanted to.
The Temprus sat happily on the grass, and you could almost swear there was a smile on her face. Looks like her plan worked...
