Volpes can learn many things, from simply rolling over to casting magic spells. Though we don't have them all listed down, meaning they haven't been discovered, here are most of the things a Volpe can learn.
Oh, wait, before getting down to that, lets see the categories. Tricks, moves, and abilities.
Tricks do not really have an effect on anything, and don't have any use in the battle field. What do they do then? They make your Volpe more obedient. Volpes they obey are likely to do what you ask them to when you do. Tricks are the beginning of a nicely bonded pair. They also have the lowest Point Value(we'll get to that later). Its best to start on tricks first before teaching your Volpe moves. Beginning Volpes (about Lv. 0 - 8) are best for teaching tricks.
Moves can be used in the battle field, whether it's for attacking or defending. If a Volpe is taught tricks first, it's likely to obey when you command it to do a move. Point values for moves are high, and thus making them harder to learn than tricks. Remember on the breed pages where it has a small list of moves your Volpe can perform? Those moves are instinctive, but are not known by command. Instinctive moves do not have to meet the point value requirement, or any others, in fact, unless it's specified. Intermediate leveled Volpes (about Lv. 5 - 15+) are the best at learning moves, but abilities are a different thing.
Abilities are the hardest thing to teach a Volpe, and some can't even be taught! Volpes come with abilities as well, but abilities do not have to be known on command. They are all instinctive. Lets use Pokemon* for example if you don't understand. Pretend you have a Lantern with volt absorb. Volt absorb is a Pokemon ability that drains energy from electric type attacks and turns it into HP. Now let’s say that lantern is hit by a thunder. Volt absorb takes effect, and without being told to, the Lantern absorbs the thunder. Its the same with Volpes. Most abilities have triggers that make them take effect, though there are some that don't. Advanced Volpes (About Lv. 20+) are best at learning new abilities, though with some difficulties.
Okay, now you've read up on what these terms mean, but what exactly is a point value? The point value is level, just in a different term. Silly, yes, but it makes things easier to understand once you get a grasp on everything. So, if the point value is the same or lesser then your Volpe's level, it can be taught.
Lower leveled Volpes are best at learning tricks, intermediate+ leveled Volpes are best at moves, and Advanced Volpes are best with abilities. Of course, any 'level' Volpe can learn anything. It'll just take a little more effort.
