Auctions are a bit of a twist to normal buying, or so I'd say. Bid, be out bidded and bid some more. That's the basic 'air' of auctions. Nothin' much to it!
Even so, breaking it down gives a greater understanding of the contest! Do you really think you understand the processes of auctions? Possibly so, but why not get a little bit more of an 'in-depth' look of the world of auctions?
Bids are your offers on the auctioned item. You'll have to bid to outbid the person who's bidded before you, can't win any other way! To cast a bid, simply post with your offer! (you may use the below bidding form) Once someone's out bidded you, you'll have to post again, just to keep it organized and simpler to see who made the highest bid. Keep in mind that you'll have exceed the previous bid, make or exceed the minimum bid increase requirement, and make sure you have enough on you to make that bid. Bids can be casted as Qil, Coins, or both, depending on the Auctioneer's currency preference. If no-one has made a bid in an auction, then you can make the starting bid, the required amount of qil/coins to, well, start the bid. the SB, and many call it, does not have to make the minimum increase requirement. However, just as any bid, you can exceed the amount to slightly increase your chances of winning.
Auto-buy is the amount of qil/coins needed to automatically win the auction. However, keep in mind this is an option that the auctioneer decides, meaning you can't make up your own auto-buy amount or ask to auto buy for an auction with no auto-buy. If this option is available, then at any point of time may a player cast the auto-buy bid. Also, if the auction exceeds this amount, the bidder who made this amount wins and the auction closes, just as a 'safe guard' After all, you don't want to end up paying more then an item's worth, right? The auto-buy's often a bit more then regular sale price (meaning the item's quire rare possibly. What kind of auction would it be if you don't get a bit extra then worth, eh?), but usually is just that amount that tells you when enough's enough. Or, perhaps just looking for a quicker sale. In any case, auto-buys are rather help-ful, keep a lookout for an auction with this option, might just get you the volpe of your dreams!
Time Limit is the length of time an auction will be held. Usually a week, but no more then two weeks or less then two days. After all, an endless auction serves no point! Eventually, bids would stop coming, wouldn't they? Anyway, these time limits can also help you win too! Just wait until the last few moments the auction is open and post a final bid before it closes! A cleaver little strategy, but then again, it does seem a bit unfair to those who are sleep when the auction closes, and thus frowned upon. (still, not a rule, but do be considerate -nod- )
Once the auction ends, a confirmation PM is sent to the winner, the last bidder with a valid bid. This PM will look something like the following:
Now, if this transaction is denied, then the 'runner-up' is sent the PM. The process of denial will only go to the third place winner, if denied at that stage, the first winner must take the bid.
Once a confirmation has been reached, the auction is closed and 'Dead'. It'll be kept in the Auction board as reference.
... And that's pretty much it for auctions! the next sections are just break-downs of the auctioneer's form and bidder's form, might want to take a look at those if you wish to make your own auction or wish to bid in an auction. Also, for those who make their own auctions, the forms for the confirmation PM is available too :3

Breakdown of Auctioneer's form:
This is a general form and breakdown. You may, if desired, add in your own areas, such as rules, like if a volpe is being auctioned, the name must be kept or whatever. However, all the following information must be present. Just adding, no subtracting. When your auction is over, please PM me so I can process the transactions, or tell the winner to post in the qil/credit transfers.
Underlined name - Underlined is the item on auction
( Image ) - Image of the item on auction
Starting bid: - Required starting bid for the auction, first bidder must make or exceed this amount to start the auction. May be in Qil, coins, or both.
Min. Increase: - Required increase to outbid bidder before, does not apply when starting the auction with the starting bid. Will be in the same currency as the starting bid.
Auto-buy?: - Auto-buy option, if no, there is no Auto-buy. If Yes, an amount will be listed and a bidder may bid that amount to automatically win the auction.
{countdown timer} - The countdown timer is just the nifty little device to make closing time of the auction easier to see. To make the timer, use the following code:
(C-box time of auction closing) - The month, date, and hour the auction closes is displayed in the parenthesis. C-box time is universal, and the same time is displayed for everyone on this forum. Please remember, no longer then 2 weeks, no shorter then 2 days!
