Breeding rules and description:
Love can always fill the air and offspring are a wondrous result of it. The air is always sweet year round at the breeding garden, uplifting and calming. Flowers, bushes, trees, and soft grasses create a large dome of tranquility that separates this section of the sanctuary. Near its core a pond, or more rather lake resides giving a peaceful view. Rocky outcroppings line the east for the pregnant females to give birth to the result of love, pups.
Rules:
• Role-playing will be required for the free breeding. • 25 posts are required for a successful Normal breeding, 13/12 posts for each parent if volpes come from different owners • 45 posts are required for a successful Hybrid breeding, 23/22 posts for each parent if Volpes come from different owners. • 30 posts are required for a successful Mix breeding, 15 posts for each parent • Some Volpes may be sterile. A PM notice will be sent to you if a Volpe you are trying to breed is sterile. This is rare, so there's a high chance of fertility. • Do not role-play actual intercourse. Of course, affection can be shown. The things that go on here is the bonding ritual between the two parents. • A male and a female Volpe pair is required! Any other pairs must go to Rosa's Breedery. • Remember, only adults can breed. But the wait for a pup to become an adult is short, so you won't have to wait too long. • Once a role-play has been completed, I'll lock it once the pups are born. Times when the pups are born is stated below.
Remember the breeding type you're doing! Normal breedings are between two parents of the same breed Hybrid breedings are between two parents of different breeds and babies get hybrid lines Mix breedings are between two parents of different breeds and babies get lines of either parent If you are doing either a hybrid or a mix breeding, be sure to state it in your first post!
Note: Hybred volpes cannot be hybred-bred with other volpes! However, with hybreds of the same kind, there is a slight chance there will be pups, but litter numbers are few. Also, Hybred volpes can also Mix breed but are highly recessive.

How to Start:
Before you start a breeding, you must post in the Sign-Up thread with your pair. If you have a Paired breeding, meaning you and another person are breeding your Voles together, your pair must elect a 'Leader' who will post in the Sign-Up, start the thread, and post in the Finished thread. Once you Sign Up, you may then start your thread and begin role playing.
Notice! You may have up to 2 breedings a month, however, you must finish one before starting another! If your breeding thread remains inactive for more then 2 months, then it will be considered Dead. You may, however, possibly revive that dead thread. See here first. If you do have a dead thread, it will take up 1 breeding spot until it is either revived or killed.
Now, once you finish your breeding, in meaning you've made the post requirement, you must post in the Finished thread for it to be processed. If you do not post in the Finished thread, your breeding will NOT be processed!
Be sure that your thread follows all rules of Vole Sanctuary. No spam, chat speak, god modding, etc. Also be sure your posts are more then four sentences long. Longer is preferred, but V. S. is supportive of role playing how you want to.
Pups Cycle:
Once you've finished your breeding, pups will then come! Now, they run on a cycle. I will use January, February, and March as a way to express it. Kay, you've finished your breeding in January and posted in the Finished thread. No matter when in January you finish, let it be the first or the thirty-first, the pups will come on or around the 15th of February, the next month. Once the pups are born and sent home, they will stay as pups until the end of the month, February. Once the end of February/start of March hits, the pups will then grow into their adult form! All pups of the month are born together, as well as they are grown together.
As stated before, if you never post in the Finished thread, you'll never get pups! It's just easier to see and process in one thread, rather then having to visit thread to thread.

Conditions:
You may be wondering how to 'Enhance' your breedings. Perhaps you want more pups per litter, or maybe all a certain gender. There will soon be a shop where you can find these sorts of items. But what if you want to go -all- natural? Well, there are a few secrets to this.
First, is the length of your breeding role play. Having an extra 15 posts of bonding bring the pair closer together, and Gives a very high chance of having an extra pup produced! However, oddly, this works for 1 extra pup.. Having 30 more posts doesn't quite make an extra 2 pups.
Also, it's said that bringing along the volpe's Satrus pet does something with the litter.. It's not quite clear what, though.
Finally, the Season can strongly affect the litters of volpes. Though Volpes can breed year-round, some seasons are more fruitful then others.
~~ Current Season: ~~ Fall[/b]
Winter - Winter breedings will usually result in 2 pups. Cold weather and snowy conditions are bad for raising offspring, but the upcoming seasons make it a usual time for breeding. However, some Volpes may not even produce pups in winter. Like with Summer, Pups are slightly more likely to be male. However, Volpes that must hatch from eggs will more likely be Female. This is only a heightened chance, not a guarantee.
Spring - Spring breedings will usually result in 3-4 pups. Usual rains brings growing plants, which are good for raising young. Mid spring bring best times for breeding for this season. Pups birthed in spring are said to have a slightly more probable chance to be female. Egged Volpe genders are usually evenly probable in Spring.
Summer - Summer breedings usually result in 2 pups. Hot, humid temperatures are often fatal for young Volpes. However, aquatic breedings are best for this time, and offspring will usually result in 3 pups. As with Winter, volpes are said to have a slightly higher chance to be male. Egged volpes are most likely to be Male in warm temperatures.
Fall - Fall breedings usually result in 1 or 2 pups. Though moderate weather conditions are normally great for offspring, the harsh upcoming winter is not fit for new born pups. Females are slightly more likely in Fall, as they are in Spring. Egged volpes, again, are randomly gendered in this season.

Recessive Rating:
This is a little tip for those who have an interest in mix breedings to increase the population of a certain breed of Volpe. Depending on how recessive a certain breed is, you may get a litter of mostly K9s as opposed to Royals. The more recessive, the less likely to produce a particular breed of Volpe in a mixed breeding.
Average - 100% Recessive No matter what, it appears you'll never get average pups from a mixed breeding with them. Well, in a matter of fact, you'll never get averages from any kind of breeding with them. However, in their place, the pups may turn to be Normals.. I wonder why?
Normal - Slightly Recessive Normals aren't very recessive, meaning you're likely to get more of them in a breeding over more recessive breeds. They're viewed as the 'standard' volpe, expected to be seen no matter where.
K9 - Slightly Recessive Similar to the Normal breed of Volpe, the K9s are only slightly recessive. You're likely to get a good number of them over the more recessive of breeds. Who doesn't love the playful pups?
Royal - Moderately Recessive Though a commonly seen breed, they're slightly rarer then their Normal and K9 counterparts. If in a mix breeding with a Normal, chances are you'll only get one Royal in a litter of three pups.
Bejeweled - Moderate-high Recessive Much similar to the Gryphons, Bejeweled volpes have a high resessive rate. Egged volpes are less likely to appear in litters it appears. With Normals or K9s, 1 of 3 mix breedings will produce a Bejewled.
Gryphon - Moderate-high Recessive Not as common as a royal, but not as rare as a dragon, the Gryphons are in the middle on the recessive ladder. It's seen to be quite rare to find a Gryphon offspring in a mix breeding with a Normal or K9. 1 of 3 mix breeding will produce a Gryph.
Dragon - Highly Recessive Seen to be the rarest of all volpes, Dragons hardly will produce any offspring. The only sure-fire way to have Drakelings is to breed two Dragons together. There is a very slight chance to find a Drakeling in a mix breeding with the standard breeds. However, one may have better chances if Mixed with a Gryphon..
