Rainstar x Bravestar [Fin~ <3]

Bravestar sat there for a moment, and then, he stood up. "Rainstar... or Rainfeather, whichever you prefer that I call you by... I'm not sure if I quite understand what you are getting at, but I'd much rather join your pack than stay with Ashclaw. That girl has... I dunno, something that I can't even begin to identify that just annoys the heck out of me."

After a moment, he said, "Besides... I've felt that selfsame thing missing from me, too. And... when I found out that you were here... I've felt nothing but a desire to tell you how I feel, Rainstar."

Rainstar chuckled as her old name was mentioned. "It's been forever since I was called Rainfeather, Bravestar. I don't think any of my pack members know that name of mine. I know that dear Leopardstorm has heard that name, but not Silverheart, or Mudtail."

After a moment, she gave a tiny smile. "So... is it just me, or are we both implying that we are in love with one another?" she asked, laughing.

Bravestar chuckled as he said, "Well... I guess that one could put it that way." He looked around the garden, and then, he nuzzled Rainstar affectionately. "But there is one thing that I must ask, my former mentor." This was said nervously as he cleared his throat.

"Could you ever accept the leader of another pack into your own pack? And could you ever accept the leader of another pack as your mate?"

Rainstar thought about what Bravestar was inquiring for but a moment before she said, "You know that I, like you, do not believe in pack boundaries and am for pack alliances. Of course I accept you into the pack... Bravestar." She smiled here. "I do not require you to change your name back to Bravepool; you have as much right to be the leader as I have."

After a moment, she smiled and added on, "That being said... I would take none other as my mate."

Bravestar let this wash over him for a moment. If she was permitting him to keep his name, then... well, obviously, she was looking to have him join the leader ranks with her. He smiled as he said, brightly, "I'd love to be your mate, Rainstar. I've always loved you; and I'm more than willing to disband the Moonshine pack to join you."

Giving a sly wink, he said, "Maybe a demotion from deputy to warrior will do Ashclaw some good, too..."

Rainstar laughed as Bravestar made a mention to his deputy. "Now, what was this you mentioned about resenting her because she saw you as her boyfriend?" she asked, her tone getting rather defensive. She could be a little protective of anyone she cared for, especially if it was her former apprentice. She nuzzled him back and said, "She'd have to learn to live by our rules, of course... and that, I cannot see happening, from the way you talk of her. She sounds like she was brought up strictly."

Bravestar nodded slowly as he said, "According to her, us being the only Volpes in the pack currently, and her being a femme and I being a male, automatically makes us mates. I've told her numerous times that I could never love her." He shook his head as he continued, "And there was a good reason I said that, too."

After a moment, he looked back at her. "What names shall we give our little darlings?" he asked.

Rainstar thought for a moment. "Usually... I have many an answer for name ideas--after all, I helped to name the Gryphon that Silverheart sees as her companion--but, in all honesty... I'd have to see the little younglings first before I can name them." She said decisively.

Her ears swiveled forward as she listened to him explain why Ashclaw seemed to think that she and Bravestar would end up together. She shook her head after a moment; "And this is why I do not have any males in my pack, currently. I didn't want any trying to force themselves on me before I knew if I should give up on you or not..."

Bravestar nodded after a moment and said, "I figured that you would say as much, Rainstar." He chuckled, and then, he nodded again as he said, "Well... now that Moonshine Pack has been disbanded, and now that Ashclaw and I are a part of the pack... well, what should we do?"

He shook his head as he said, "If I know Ashclaw, she'll not want to leave the territory without a fight... and she'll probably be hostile for a while, if not for many, many moons hereafter..."

Rainstar laughed as she said, "Well, I suppose she'll just have to learn to live with us. After all, it's not like we have bad blood between us. If anything, she should be hostile to the Volpe that drove us out of our old pack and into our own." She smiled as she gave Bravestar an affectionate lick on the cheek.

"I sure hope the little ones will be able to get along with Ashclaw... the others should be no problem."
